"Limited Edition FM" is an upcoming album by rapper and client Gorgeous Jefe, inspired by the sounds and visuals of old Playstation games, like "Jet Set Radio". I went for a very colorful comicbook look, using plenty of halftone and chromatic aberration effects (somewhat inspired by how the recent Spiderverse films use chromatic aberration in lieu of actual blurring for depth of field). The logo for this project was also made from scratch just for this album, leaning into a Y2K aesthetic.
I designed the characters' outfits by borrowing from the colorful appearances of Jet Set Radio characters and combining it with a bit of contemporary fashion, and the result is a clean colorful look that the target audience of this album would find fresh and stylish.
I spent many hours on this project trying my hardest to really get detail into every last corner because the project really interested me, and I'm very happy with the result. It's bright and colorful, very detailed, and I put a lot of work into each element of the design.
